Internet Explorer is not supported by Design Library

The last version of Internet Explorer, version 11, was released on October 17, 2013. This is a very long time ago when taking into account the rapid development of web technologies. These days it is often difficult and time consuming to get modern technologies to work well in this old browser. More and more frameworks are dropping support, and even Microsoft themselves has announced that they will fully drop support for IE in their own services in 2021.

Consequently, we have decided to not include support for IE in the Design Library website.

Luckily, there are modern options in active development. Please use Firefox, Edge or Chrome instead.

Design Library 2.0 is live

Did you notice the site is "a little" different? We have been busy bees for a while and can now finally present the new and improved Design Library. Read about the main updates here.

New and improved Design Library

This spring the Design Library site had it's second birthday and we realised that times had moved on quickly around us. It was time for a facelift. At the same time, we also wanted to create a better code base for the site, so that maintaining it would be a quicker job. And this is what we did.

What is new?

1. The design itself

As you can see, the site has had a proper facelift to mirror our own design better. Jessi came up with a design that reminded us of both public websites and Developer portal.

2. Navigation

There are four main entrances at the top:

  • Foundation - This section is more text-based where we tend to "explain things". What do I need to know to work with SEB experiences? Read about the digital design and design principles, and what matters when you work within a certain shell or context.
  • Components and patterns - The main shabang is right here, with all our common components and patterns. Use the search function, browse the left hand navigation or scroll down through the groups.
  • Resources - Everything that is downloadble gathered in one place.
  • About - What is Design Library in short?
3. Components
  • Components now belong to at least one group. There is one group that you haven't seen before, called "Recipes". Think of it as components that are put together, like ingredients in a recipe. It can be a wizard, template or a button group.
  • We think you are likely to search for a component. Therefor the search function is always found at the top.
  • The code is not shown on a component page anymore. Instead, see if the component is available in any of our main frameworks and then click your way to the demo site or the repository of your choice.
4. Frontend

We redesigned and rebuilt from the ground up, incorporating all the things we've learnt over the past three years, and optimized for a more agile workflow. The site is now built as an SPA in React.

Yes to feedback!

We still have more changes up our sleeves, but hopefully you will both like our new site and able to find things all right. Let us know what you think!
