The last version of Internet Explorer, version 11, was released on October 17, 2013. This is a very long time ago when taking into account the rapid development of web technologies. These days it is often difficult and time consuming to get modern technologies to work well in this old browser. More and more frameworks are dropping support, and even Microsoft themselves has announced that they will fully drop support for IE in their own services in 2021.
Consequently, we have decided to not include support for IE in the Design Library website.
Did you notice the site is "a little" different? We have been busy bees for a while and can now finally present the new and improved Design Library. Read about the main updates here.
This spring the Design Library site had it's second birthday and we realised that times had moved on quickly around us. It was time for a facelift. At the same time, we also wanted to create a better code base for the site, so that maintaining it would be a quicker job. And this is what we did.
As you can see, the site has had a proper facelift to mirror our own design better. Jessi came up with a design that reminded us of both public websites and Developer portal.
There are four main entrances at the top:
We redesigned and rebuilt from the ground up, incorporating all the things we've learnt over the past three years, and optimized for a more agile workflow. The site is now built as an SPA in React.
We still have more changes up our sleeves, but hopefully you will both like our new site and able to find things all right. Let us know what you think!
